SUMMARY:Trial by Fire: 25 Years of the Washington Glass School - Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 2001\, the Washington Glass School has evolved from a local studio into a definitive pillar of the DMV arts landscape. Trial by Fire celebrates this quarter-century milestone\, honoring a community that redefined glass as a narrative and sculptural force. This anniversary exhibition brings together founders\, resident artists\, and alumni to explore the “Glass Secessionist” movement—a philosophy centered on storytelling and the marriage of glass with mixed media. From monumental public works to intimate sculptures\, the pieces on display reflect an enduring legacy of mentorship and technical innovation. This tribute highlights the school’s vital role in shaping the history and future of contemporary glass art in the Gateway Arts District and beyond.

SUMMARY:Unearthing Foundations\, Hispanic Heritage Month Exhibition - Public Reception
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with an exhibition that highlights Latinx and Hispanic artists in the DMV area. Unearthing Foundations examines how our personal and cultural past influences what comes next\, even if we can’t see it. SUMMARY:What Now: Exploring the Unknown Future by Dwayne Martin - Public Reception
DESCRIPTION:Dwayne Martin’s paintings explore the tension between uncertainty and forward motion. Through repeated faces\, grids\, and angular forms\, he evokes systems once trusted—identity\, order\, and progress—now fragmented and reassembled over time. His work reflects a dynamic interplay between structure and disruption\, inviting viewers to consider how meaning evolves within shifting frameworks.
